경주[Gyeong-ju] is one of the best historical cities in Korea which is in southern part.

I was born in 울산[Ul-san] near by 경주(look at the map down below),

(actually, It even takes only 30min by car from my house to 경주 downtown,

cuz my house is in a area of very northern of 울산) and my father was born in 경주.

so 경주 is really close to me both phsically and metally.

but you know, you don't really know about what is very close to you like things

is too familiar to be interested in them (your neighborhood, your old friends,..etc).

so I was a person who know 경주, but don't know what it is actually.

and then, one day, one of my friends said "shall we go to 경주?"

so, I said "yes, why now?"

we first went to 경주오릉[Gyeong-ju-Oh-neung]

(it means 5 tombs of 경주, basically, 경주 is the Capital City of the Ancient 신라[Silla] kingdom.

so there are several tombs of the loyal family)

it was like a park. a tombs park (sounds quite weird, right?)

and unfortunately i didn't take pic of the tombs, damn it.

there were a place to be able to look how the ancient people live inside as well.

me and my friend. we got this pic sitting in a frontal opened floor area of the ancient house called 마루[ma-lu].

it was quite hot weather, we needed some shade for the rest during walking around the place. and we took these photos :)

and then, we went to another tombs place called 경주대릉원(or 천마총)[Gyeong-ju-Dae-rung-won(or Cheon-ma-chong)]

i think it's the most famous tombs place in 경주( i said there were several tombs place in 경주).

if you are not that interested in the tombs, but you need a one to go, you should go there.

can you imagine the size of the tombs?

and there are a street called 황리단길[hwang-li-dan-gil]

where it have a lot of small shops like for gift and some restaurants and cafes.

I and my friend went to a restaurant for lunch called 도솔마을[do-sol-ma-eul]

where it sells tradtional Korean meals. the restarants have seperate rooms for meal.

there is a small garden inside really beautiful.

one of the menu is 도솔정식[dosoljeongsig] which has rise, soup basically

and several traditional korean side-dishes. it costs just 10,000 Korean Dollar(about 8-9$)

the room I got had the really great ceiling.

and a really great light lol (actually the light made of the bamboo by weaving like that is not a light,

it's 죽부인[jugbu-in] which is traditional sleeping tool like old people use to avoid really hot weather by hugging it

to make a space between the blanket and the person

good interior i think

on the street, there is a small souvenir shop. It's shame that i didn't buy a little cute Pin there. ;(

and by the time sunset was coming soon, we went a temple called 불국사[bul-gug-sa] really old and built in 6th century)

there are two stone over 10m high tops called 석가탑, 다보탑[seog-ga-tab, da-bo-tab]

the left one is called 다보탑, the right one is called 석가탑.

I really wanna explain the story about the two tho, I think I can write some of them down a little bit.

the story is

around 다보탑, there were 4 statues which looked like tigers. when Japan colonized Korea , they stole three of them,

and the rest one is still stayed in 불국사(under 극락전[geug-lag-jeon] 추녀[chu-nyeo]

where it is one of buildings called 극락전 in 불국사

and 추녀 means the edge of the building's 4 columns )

how about looking for it when you come to 불국사 :) ?

and other sceneries of 불국사 in a early summer day on May 2018.

thanks for reading my post and bearing my poor English :)
