for the sake of it = 특별한 이유없이 

I just asked for the sake of it ! 별 이유 없이 물어봤어

 

for a second there = for the moment(잠깐 동안)과 같은 의미지만 좀 더 과장된 뉘앙스 

for a second there, I thought you forgot me. 잠깐이지만, 네가 나 까먹은 줄 알았잖아!
